Last year’s ASB president, Claudia Lee, returned to help Mr. Crawford kick off the rally. “I was definitely nervous about visiting West Ranch, but the second I stepped onto campus I felt nothing but love and joy,” said Lee. “Visiting and going to the homecoming rally was definitely bittersweet because it made me feel nostalgic of all of the amazing memories that I had made my senior year.”Drumline energetically performed hit songs, such as “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre, to get students jumping up and down and hyped on the bleachers.Junior Daniel amazed the student body with his beatboxing skills. “I’m pretty satisfied with my performance,” said Lee. “I didn’t do it to impress anybody or to make myself look good. I did it because it’s just fun to do and that’s why I’ll keep doing it.”Riley Villiers-Furze Cheer performed wearing ’70s inspired T-shirts featuring Mr. Crawford.Dance rocked the floor with a hip-hop number.With a medley of songs, including I Don’t F*ck With You,” the hip-hop team did not disappoint.Riley Villiers-Furze ASB brought in two b-boys for a special performance.
Senior homecoming court including Kailey Clark and Wyatt Eget, Katie Jacobs and Mark McClafferty, Rory Mita and Brooke Wright, walked down the red carpet.
This year, West Ranch elected two seniors to be crowned homecoming king. Rory Mita and Mark McClafferty shared the king’s cape and crown. “It’s a real big boost in confidence to be a part of something as big as homecoming court,” said Mita. “I’m very thankful to everybody who voted me in as king and I will continue to make people laugh.”
