2020 cap and gown pickup will certainly be one to remember

With the losses the class of 2020 has endured these past couple of months, teachers and staff at West Ranch wanted to honor the seniors. On May 15, teachers provided a special surprise for the graduates on cap and gown pick-up day.

On the way to the pick up station, students were greeted with bubbles, streamers, balloons and other decorations set up by their teachers. Parents, guardians and students shed tears and shared sincere goodbye messages as they drove by this exciting event.

Students were required to remain in their car during the entirety of this process in order to abide by social distancing rules. However, their names were announced as they drove by a blue and gold balloon arch.

A banner will remain standing until the end of the school year with every senior’s name. To accommodate social distancing, students may visit at a later time to take pictures. They may locate their name and pose as the “i” in the word “senior” with their cap and gown.

Cats, we will get through this together, and there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. The 2020 graduates have surely had it rough, but what is important is that we do the best we can to make this year special.

The Paw Print wishes the seniors best of luck in the future. We will miss you!
