This October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the girls’ volleyball team held an event to raise money for a program called Circle of Hope which is right here in Santa Clarita Valley.

“Not only does it bring awareness to a cause that we should be positively affecting,’ said coach Brandon Pank, ‘but it also is a chance for our girls to be in a public forum supporting our own valley.”

In addition to having this fundraiser, all of the teams wore bright pink jerseys to further support the cause. In addition to the Claw out Cancer game, the Lady Cats won against Golden Valley. The varsity volleyball team won the first two sets easily, but in the third set, Golden Valley came back with a score of 24-23. Kaitlin Schultz spiked to take the final point, winning the game 25-23. Great job Cats. Come out and see the Lady Cats play again next Thursday, Oct. 31 at 5:30 at Valencia.
