Varsity girls’ soccer kicked off the first day of December with a win 6-0 against Burbank at the Ranch. Within the first 10 minutes of the game, West Ranch scored two goals. They continued to keep up the intensity and scored four more goals throughout the rest of the game. Each player’s desire for the ball and overall aggression allowed them to keep the ball in their opponents half, leaving Burbank scoreless.

“From our last game to today, there was a lot of improvement over the course of the last couple days so I’m very happy with how the team performed today,” said Coach White.

Heading into the season, Coach White has used this game to figure out player combinations and build up the team’s confidence with numerous goals and goal attempts. With the entire team contributing to the win, encouragement from the captains truly paid off.

“Today, I feel like we connected better than we normally do and I feel like the bond and relationship is growing more and more and that helps us a lot,” said captain Perla Lorenzo.

Despite the win, Coach White and captain Danielle Lium agree that the team is still in need of some improvement to truly prepare the team for league.

“We started off a bit sloppy maybe a bit slow, but I think we definitely picked it up, found some feet, and really played our game,” said Lium. “We just really made some improvement. Still got a lot to do, but it’s an improvement and we are going in the right direction.”

Join the team in their next game on Thursday Dec. 7 at 3:15 at the Ranch. Good luck Cats!
