West Ranch Mops Floor with John Burroughs in 54-0 Win

The West Ranch varsity football team kicked off in convincing fashion for the team’s home opener on Aug. 23.

They went off for two touchdowns in the first five minutes and were up 27-0 30 seconds into the second quarter. The team never let their foot off the gas and went into the half leading 54-0. Leading the way through this stunning, early start were brothers Ryan and Jovan Camacho. The brothers combined for seven of the eight West Ranch touchdowns on the night, with wide receiver Brandon Wyre responsible for the other.  The game was so ugly that for the second half of the game the Wildcats put in their backups and still pulled out the shutout victory.

According to West Ranch’s offensive coordinator, this amazing offensive success was due to a gameplan where they “tried to get as many people the ball [as possible].”

So what can the Wildcats expect from this season?

“We have a good-looking season in front of us, but we have to keep our heads up and not get overconfident,” said defensive back Jeremiah Guzman.

The Wildcats are off to a great start this year and are expected to have many more great moments this season. Let’s go Cats!
