Coming off of a 54-0 win against John Burroughs, West Ranch Football came in with lots of momentum when they came to play against St. Genevieve’s on Friday, Aug. 31.

West Ranch was able to come out with a quick 20-0 lead after the first quarter, which they held for the rest of the game, despite several late St. Genevieve scores. The final score of the game was 42-24, West Ranch.

When asked about how he felt about the win, Coach Varner said,  “We will take the win. [The] boys played hard, however, there is always room for improvement.” He stated that some of these things include improving tackling and catching before league play starts.

The Paw Print also asked Coach Varner about the performance of the Camacho brothers, Ryan and Jovan, who scored 5 of the 7 Cats touchdowns on the night

“It’s what we expect from them. They have been doing this for three years now,” Coach Varner stated.

The Cats season is going great so far! You can come support the team at their next home game against Oak Park on Saturday, Sept. 14.
