Wildcats Sweep Grizzlies in Second League Game

Last Thursday, Sept. 19, the West Ranch Wildcats girls varsity volleyball team took off against the Golden Valley Grizzlies in the second league game of the season, sweeping them in three consecutive sets with a score of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-14.

The Cats had control of the game throughout all three sets, therefore allowing younger players to get extra time.

Sophomore Roxanne Tunnicliffe stood out with her powerful hits, and 10th grader Kelsey Schauble easily set up her teammates with her quick hands.

Although seniors Allison Jacobs and Gwen Garate saw less playing time last week, they still showed off their experience by performing strong hits that the Grizzlies rarely returned.

Overall, the Cats put up a strong effort, intimidating their opponents. They are proving to be number one contenders to win league despite having a relatively young team.

Come out and support the team as they take on Hart at West Ranch this Thursday Sept. 26!
