The Santa Clarita community has come up with many unique activities for local residents. Cars and Coffee Is an event that is held every Saturday morning in the old K-Mart Plaza at Bouquet Canyon Road and Valencia Blvd. From 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Residents can visit the location with their classic cars from a variety of eras and places.

Albert Johnson has been participating for 3 years and loves to be a part of the SCV Cars and Coffee community. “I love seeing the cars and seeing the same people and different people every Saturday. I get to have a nice breakfast and talk with new people, old people and everyone in between,” he told the Paw Print. “It is very important not just to our community but also to the newer generation of people to see our interests; I believe this is one of many things people should do to participate and be active in their community.”

Many old school cars, motorcycles, and other old school and unique vehicles can be seen at the event. Classic Chevys and Cadillacs, along with newer sports cars like Porsches and Mercedes make appearances. The owners usually stand by to talk about their prized vehicle. Many active members of the Santa Clarita Valley community visit Cars and Coffee.

Angel Cruz has been a consistent participant at the event for 2 years and was introduced to the Cars and Coffee community by his best friend, Alexis Ramirez.

“I love seeing old cars. Cars are a hobby for me like cooking and playing games for others. I love to hear about every car and the details changed to it. This family is very important to me because that’s how I feel about it, the people I come with and see are my family.”

Cruz said, “I believe that this event is one of the more important ones that has a set day and time. Our Cars and Coffee event here has some really cool stuff, and I am always super giddy to see what new stuff comes in. It’s a way of bonding for us motor heads, and we want more people to come with the appreciation we have for each other and their cars.”

Having this common appreciation binds local residents together and helps form a stronger, tighter community. If you are interested in Cars and Coffee, come to the old K-Mart plaza on Saturday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m..
