With the fall season upon us, Santa Clarita residents are beginning to participate in autumn activities such as the purchase of bright orange pumpkins. With various pumpkins scattered across the lot and ready for purchase, the opening of a local pumpkin patch along Carl Boyer Drive helped local families get into the season.
Pumpkins were displayed on hay bales and wooden square planks around the pumpkin patch. With varying sizes, visitors could pick their desired pumpkin. Since the pumpkin patch has been open for the third year, the
team has been able to add more fun activities to improve the experience.
There were a variety of activities that guests could participate in. Specifically, inflatable slides and bounce houses as well as teacup and train rides. Customers could buy either an All-You-Can-Ride pass for thirty dollars, small jumper ride tickets for six dollars or four bounce house tickets for ten dollars.
Event coordinator Joseph Turk explained that this year’s event provided “live performances, pet costume contests, hidden golden tickets, a kids’ foam party and plenty of fun surprises.”
Rylie Ryoo, a visitor at the
festival, explained, “I heard about the event through What’s Up SCV’s Instagram post. It encouraged me to go because I have not gone to a pumpkin patch in a long time.”
Guests were able to buy food from the vendors set up along the perimeters of the fall festival. Vendors sold savory foods, including hot dogs and tacos and sweeter options such as cotton candy and different types of gummies.
Attendee Samantha Thai, a sophomore at West Ranch, shared that her favorite part of the pumpkin patch was, “The agua fresca because it was really delicious and refreshing.” She chose the mango creme flavor, although the stand also offered other unique flavors such as horchata, strawberry shortcake, strawberry lime and cucumber lime.

Alongside the agua fresca stand was a charm bar where customers could purchase rings, earrings, necklaces and other trinkets. Individual charms and jewelry were displayed on tables and guests were able to pick out the charms that stood out to them the most. They also sold customizable ankle bracelets and waist beads.
When asked about the preparation and hosting of the event, Turk replied, “Our team handled everything from leveling the land and pulling permits to booking vendors and working with the health department.” He continued, “It ended up being our most interactive patch yet.”
The organization of the event was no easy task. “Turning an empty dirt lot into a Halloween oasis takes a lot of work, but once the lights are on, the rides are spinning, and families are having fun, it’s all worth it” Turk explained. After intense planning, the event turned out to be a success, and customers all over Santa Clarita joined the community festival.

From delicious food to playing on the bounce house, this new local pumpkin patch has a wide range of activities for Wildcats to enjoy.
